The search function on this page works for these families, with early settlers noted:

• Alexanders who settled Henry County, TN, including Matthew, Hugh M., James C., William H, John M.,
  and John Priestly Alexander: the East TN branch is at jamesalexged.html. Many Mathises intermarried with the Alexanders.
• Adamses--actually mostly Calloway County, KY, starting with William: Susie Adams has more-thorough
  information posted in the library at Murray State University.
• Bradshaws--Richard, Joseph, and Anna Bradshaw: Anna may have been the widow of a Bradshaw brother
  instead of a Bradshaw.
• Chilcutts--Joshua (who appeared by 1820) and George Chilcutt (who followed shortly afterward)
• Gores--Thomas L. Gore and family, including allied Stephenses and McClures, who came before 1840
• Moodys--Isaac Newton, Sr, and Elijah W. Moody, and allied McCuistons/McCuistions, who came to Henry
  County, TN, and Calloway County, KY, by 1830
• Mannings--Mikel or Michael Manning, emigrant from Ireland in the 1830s
• McMillins/McMillans--William (not a Henry County, TN, family, but in my ancestral line)
• Mortons--George Simeon Morton, including allied McSwains and Throgmortons, who came around 1840
• Powels/Powells--Allenson Powel, Sr, and family, including some Dortches and Culpeppers, who were in
  Henry County in the 1820s
• Smiths--Henry Smith, who probably migrated to the Henry County area about 1820 with a group from VA
• Stagners--Talbert Stagner and Malinda (Mathis) Stagner, who came to Henry County late, in the 1840s: Johnny Walker has more Stagner information than I.
• Stephenses--Edward, Emily Jane, Olive, Aditha, John S., and Eli A. (also Fielding, who was probably not related) Stephens--in Henry County by the 1830s
• others who, while not in my direct ancestral line, were closely associated with these families: Atkinses (George), Jimersons/Jamesons (Fanny), Mooreheads/Moreheads (John of SC and Lincoln County, TN), (Olivers (Moses), Paschalls (I have several Paschalls, but refer to Clarence McDaniels's page for real Paschall information.), Scarbroughs (Alexander), Shells (Richard), Wilson (John B.), Walls (Andrew J.).
